Use a Personal Firewall to Protect Your Computer

ZoneAlarm is essential for DSL and Cable modem users, providing rock-solid protection against Internet intrusions - stopping them dead in their tracks. If you can't be seen, you can't be attacked.
ZoneAlarm version 2.1.44 includes improved MailSafe which enables users of ZoneAlarm to better detect and control unsafe Visual Basic Script attachments to emails they receive while ZoneAlarm is running. This release introduces features including:
- Now supports most infrared devices
- Enhanced, easier to use Help
- Includes support for Windows 2000 Service Pack 1
- FTP function is now more secure
- clients no longer require server rights
- Less intrusive and quiter operation while maintaining the same high security level and stealth operation
- renaming the Traffic panel to the Alerts panel
- logging of alerts to a text file
- the ability to browse the most recent alerts inside the Alerts panel
Many of you here at PC911 are probably aware of ZoneAlarm and some of you use it. It has been included here in the beta section because it is clearly a superior product and we'd like to encourage ZONE Labs to continue its development and maintain its free for personal use status. If you do not yet use personal firewall software and you feel there is any advantage to be gained from doing so, we can't think of a better place to start than at ZONE Labs.
