  3. Ken Woodward Says:

Although the program seems to work well as a DB for music files, the sound produced is terrible. All audio files that have been digitized from vinyl recordings and tapes distort terribly when played using wmp11. This is not true using other players. I’ve tried it on several different computers and the results are the same. This will not be a useful tool until Microsoft fixes the audio codecs it is using.

I am experiencing an issue with WMP 11. When i open the program, nothing appears on the screen except the tab down the bottom. I can’t see the programme even though it is running, and it does play files when i select them from folders. I can hear video and audio files, i just can’t see anything.

I have checked my system setup, and all my hardware/software meets the standards required. Can you provide any ideas as to why this may be occuring?

  12. Jim Bowen Says:

When WM11 is in skin mode if you try to skip forward a track you get an error message:

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

In windowed or full screen mode its fine any ideas why?

  15. carol Says:

I have had to restore my computer twice to factory setting after using this dreadful program. My problem was worse. It shut down my dvd burning software and starting giving me all kinds of errors. At first I didn’t know what was causing the problem and I restored my computer. After awhile I redownloaded all my old programs which was a pain and also reloaded WMP 11. Guess what? My DVD software crashed again and then I restored againg and thought hard about what could have caused it. Both times my software crashed AFTER I updated WMP 10 to 11. After that I kept WMP 10 and never had that problem again.

  16. Barry Says:

My Media Player will not even open up at all.

  17. Joel Says:

The problem I’m having with WMP 11 is that it won’t run at all. From what I can tell it does the full installation, but never comes with a “you’ve successfully installed WMP 11″ or anything of that nature. The only “problem” during installation is that I can’t select the option to add a shortcut to the desktop for some reason.
